The Competition Experience
Every year Royal Holloway Dance Society host a dance competition on campus. We invite other universities to come and compete against each other in front of a pannel of professional dance judges. We also travel to other universities to take part in their competitions. All RHUL competition teams travel together and spend the day watching the routines, cheering their friends on and (hopefully) winning some trophies. These normally take place on the weekends in second term.

Auditions
Your chance to be on a competition team
Our recalls are happening THIS week (4th - 8th October).​

Our competition teams compete in the spring term. If you are on a compeition team you must go to 2 hours of rehearsals a week for your team and 3+ hours of open class a term.
There is one audition/recall session for each style. The audition will run like a class. You will warm-up, do some technique and then learn the choreography for the intermediate and advanced routines. You will have the option to leave after the intermediate choreography if you feel that is enough for you. The choreographers will film you dancing in groups. You do NOT have to prepare anything.
You need to submit the google form in our Linktree to say which styles you would like to audition for and your preferences. You can find this in our Instagram bio (@rhuldancesoc).If you cannot make the audition time, do not worry! Please contact our competition coordinator Alyssa Maskell.
Everyone is welcome to audition for any style, but please be aware you will only be accepted onto a maximum of two teams, regardless of how many you audition for.
